Gazans Celebrate Shalit’s Misery

by Eric on December 19, 2008

The UN made a rare comment against Hamas. Hamas held a rally in Gaza City where 150,000 gathered and cheered as a Hamas man dressed as Gilad Shalit, Israel’s kidnapped soldier, acted in a way which mocked the Shalit family and all of Israel.

Shalit has been in Hamas captivity for 910 days. No one outside of Hamas really knows whether or not he is still alive.

Gabriela Shalev, the UN envoy who made the comments, said that the Palestinians have a long way to go before any real pace can be reached.
