3M, the large American company widely known for office supplies such as the Post It Note, has purchased Israeli company Attenti for $23 million.  The company is based in Tel Aviv.

Attenti, formerly known as Dmatek, builds tracking systems for people under surveillance, most commonly under court order.  The devices can also detect someone’s blood alcohol level in some cases.

Investments in Israel are a great indicator that the world has confidence in Israeli start-ups, technology, and the viability of long term economic success.
