Recent News from Gaza

Honest Reporting found three recent news stories that sunk into the depths of non-exposure as they were overshadowed by the recent Flotilla incident.  I thought two were particularly noteworthy.

First, a Hamas senior official said that there is “no humanitarian crisis in Gaza.”  Let me repeat that for the skeptics who claim Israel has created serious humanitarian issues: A senior Hamas official said that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza!  He made it clear that people are not starving and “no one has died of hunger.”

Second, Hamas made it clear that the humanitarian aid going into Gaza does not go to the people who need it.  The corrupt Hamas leadership keeps all of the goods for Hamas supporters.  A Hamas critic in Gaza said that “people who are not in with Hamas don’t see any of the relief goods or the gifts of money.”
