Fatah Incitement Increases

While the United States loves to call Hamas the “bad guys” and Fatah/PLO the “good guys,” it is more accurate to call Fatah the “bad guys” and Hamas the “worse guys.”  Fatah leadership is no peaceful political group seeking peace with Israel.  It has the same exact goal as Hamas, just a different methodology to achieve it.

During a press conference in Ramallah, Fatah Central Committee member Mahmoud al-Alul said the faction, which is headed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, plans to escalate its activity against Jewish settlements in the West Bank and the West Bank barrier, as well as against what he called Israel’s attempt to “Judaize” Jerusalem, this in accordance with the decisions reached at Fatah’s sixth annual congress.

Yediot Aharonotcovered the press conference, and it is disturbing to see public calls for terrorism and the murder of innocent civilians.  The PA clearly cares more about the criminalization and destruction of Israel than it cares about its own people’s well being.  It is well known that the Arab world tries to keep the Palestinians in desperate conditions for a PR campaign against Israel.

“We are aware of the fact that Israel has decided to employ cruel force to repress the popular demonstrations. Zaki was arrested during one of these protests. They (Israel) see that the Palestinian leadership is taking an active role and that the popular struggle is heading towards major escalation,” al-Alul said.

“Our struggle has a price, and we are willing to pay it,” he said.

It is sad to see that they are willing to “pay the price” of their own people’s safety and welfare.  In the mean time, the Israeli military has to focus on keeping Israeli civilians safe.  It would be difficult to manage hostile borders with Gaza and Palestinian towns in Israel.  I hope it does not come to that.
