Israel Situation’s Joel Featured in Colorado Daily

by Eric on March 4, 2010

I just wanted to give a quick “shout out” to Joel, our weekly NGO/Non-Profit columnist.  Joel wrote an op-ed/letter to the editor of Boulder’s Colorado Daily, a daily print newspaper enthusiastically read by many students at the University of Colorado and Boulder residents.

He wrote backto the Daily after they ran a not-so-accurate caption on a picture of a Hamas terrorist.  Rather than spoil his fun, I will point you to the letter.

Take Joel’s action as an example.  If we all work at it, we can make a difference!  If you have a success story like this, I will certainly share it with Israel Situation readers.  Just drop me a line through the contact form.  I also accept news tips and compliments.  If you want to be like Joel and conver a topic for the site, check out the author page for current openings.

    Thanks for the shout out!

I sort of did this on a whim, as the picture seriously sent me over the edge. I’m going to start meeting with some pro-Israel local leaders and see if we can put an informal team of people together to do regular media watch. It’s really easy to do, and I think a small committed group can make major changes in the dialogue.

That is a great idea. If you are looking for inspiration, check out Honest Reporting. I have met the staff personally, and they do great work to organize against media bias.
