Small Aircraft Enters Dimona No Fly Zone

by Eric on October 6, 2009

Israeli military fighter jets intercepted a small general aviation aircraft over the Dimona nuclear research facility, one of the most secure locations in the country.

The military aircraft intercepted the small plane and forced it to land at a nearby civilian airfield.  The pilot claims he was on the way from Rishon LeZion to Arad and lost his way.  Police detained the pilot for further questioning.

Nuclear analysts belive that Israel has built up to 200 nuclear weapons at the Dimona reactor.  As my Birthight bus driver said: “Israel doesn’t have nuclear weapons.  If we did, they are right there.”
