International Air Force Drill Canceled Over Israel

by Eric on October 12, 2009

Turkey has caused a bit of a ruckus due to their position on Israeli participation in the annual international Anatolia Eagle dill.

Turkey sponsors this drill annually and includes the United States among other NATO allies.  Turkey decided to unilaterally change the invited participant list this time around, and the new invites did not include Israel.  Everything else was the same.

After Israel was removed from the list, the United States and other participants said they would not join if Israel was not allowed to join in as well.  Turkey’s press office released a statement that the October 10-23 drills would still happen, but no international participants would join.

It seems that “secular” Turkey has the same anti-Semitic biases they always have.  All recent developments have been lost.
