High Court: Israel Must Demolish Palestinian Homes Too

by Eric on September 10, 2009

Israel’s Supreme Court has issued a decision that Israel must demolish all illegal homes built in Judea and Samaria, not only the Jewish ones.

Of course, if Israel were to act on that directive and demolish illegally built Palestinian homes in the ‘West Bank,’ the entire would would probably freak out and call Israel a racist apartheid regime.  But they are already doing that, right?

The court decision applies to two specific structures in the Arab villages al-Sawaya and Yatma.  The issue was brought to the court by the NGO Israel Monitor, which inquired on Israel’s decisions to destroy illegally built Jewish homes but not illegal Arab homes.

The state is now pressed to set a demolition deadline as ordered by the court.
