Even Mubarak Says that Israelis are Showing Commitment to Peace

by Anthony Reich on August 17, 2009

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, in Washington for a meeting with President Obama, has expressed “surprisingly” supportive words for the Israel leadership. He was quoted as saying that the current Israeli leadership is committed to moving forward with the peace process with the Palestinians.

Although Mubarak stopped short of advocating normalisation of relations between Israel and the Arabs, he said that Arab states will be willing to recognize and normalize ties with Israel only after a just and comprehensive Middle East peace is achieved.

Let us pray that this will happen soon.
