US Defense Secretary to Visit Israel

by Eric on July 20, 2009

United States Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has made plans to visit Israel next week. On the agenda: Iran and US-Israel strategic ties.

Gates is scheduled to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu, but the full schedule is under wraps, citing security concerns.

One official involved in planning the trip said that “we expect Iran to be the main issue. There is obviously a value in a show of Americans and Israelis closing ranks about Iran.”

We will see how things pan out over the next week and after the meetings take place. Maybe we (Americans and Israelis) will blow up Iran’s nuclear program already. It’s about time.
