Ehud Barak Meeting Mitchell in New York Today

by Eric on July 1, 2009

Defense Minister and Labor Party sell-out Ehud Barak is in New York today meeting with US Middle East Envoy George Mitchell. The primary goal of the meetings is to find a middle ground on settlements and future peace objective.

Barak reported that the initial meeting, which lasted over four hours, was productive in finding an agreement on settlement growth, but nothing has been officially decided yet. The US is still insisting a complete settlement growth freeze. Israel is willing to remove unauthorized settlement outposts but is not willing to stop natural growth in major Jewish population centers, such as Gush Etzion.

I just want to know what the Palestinians are going to give Israel in return for their efforts? I have seen nothing so far, even as Israel removes check points and outposts.
