Israeli News and Arab News

by Eric on June 30, 2009

I am watching an international program on a local Denver cable channel, DOM. The show keeps flipping between Middle Eastern new broadcasts. I have, so far, seen Al-Jazeera Iran, Al-Jazeera Doha, Dubai TV, and Israel Broadcast Network (IBN). Lebanese news is on right now.

I have to say, if I always watched Al-Jazeera and never saw the Israeli broadcast, I would have thought Israel was bad too. The broadcasts from the Arab stations never said the word ‘Jerusalem’ or the phrase ‘West Bank’ without first saying “occupied.”

This is the very type of media bias, like that I was fighting on Wikipedia before being discouraged, that leads the world to look down on Israel as the aggressor and the Palestinians as the victims.

I urge all of you to fight insinuations that Israel is bad with the truth. Want to know if anything is really “occupied?” Mitch Bard has a great list of myths and facts online at the JVL.
