Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the cabinet his thoughts on new settlements, settlement growth, unauthorized settlements outposts, and Jerusalem. To paraphrase, here are the big points:
- Israel will not permit any new settlements to be built.
- Natural growth will be permitted, as families will continue to have children and need resources in their towns.
- Jerusalem is not a settlement, and construction will continue there as needed.
- Unauthorized settlement outposts (there are 26) will continue to be dismantled.
