Joseph’s Tomb Vandalized

by Eric on April 23, 2009

Many important Jewish sites are dotted around the West Bank. After the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron, Joseph’s tomb is one of the most important. That site was found damaged and covered in swastikas during a recent visit by a group of roughly 500 Jewish visitors.

The site has been burned down and destroyed several times. While the Israeli government works hard to protect important Muslim sites like the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the PA could give a s**t about Jewish sites.

I find it absolutely infuriating that the Palestinians go on like this unchecked. If they are going to disturb important Jewish and Christian sites, I see no reason why we can’t just tear down the Dome of the Rock and build the Beis Ha’Migdash (Temple) in its rightful place.

Also, why does such an important site get so little media coverage? Aside from his fame in the Andrew Lloyd Webber show about the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Joseph played a major role in Jewish, Christian, and Muslim history. Anyone heard of the 12 tribes? One was Joseph. Anyone heard of the Jewish being slaves in Egypt? Joseph brought them there. He was a pivotal person in biblical history.

So, usual life goes on in Israel. The Palestinians wrong us and break one of the important premises of the Oslo Accord and no one does anything. Israel engages in a war with terrorists and everyone calls us racist. Another day in the Promised Land…
