Pope to Visit Kotel and Dome of the Rock

by Eric on March 10, 2009

In the first Papal visit to Israel in quite a long time, Pope Benedict will make an eight day trip to Israel and plans to visit sites holy to each of the three major monotheistic religions.

The Pope is going to make stops at the Kotel (Western Wall) and the neighboring Dome of the Rock. The Christian highlight of the trip will be a Catholic Mass in the Galilee region.

It is good to see the Catholic Church working to ease tensions with Israel.
