If Israel decides to build a 30 unit apartment in Ma’ale Adumim the entire world freaks out. If the Palestinians build 88 buildings over 18 years, no one seems to notice.
David’s Garden is a historic site in Jerusalem. For hundreds of years the Ottoman and British Empires took care of the site, and Israel took over from there.
Floodwaters turned the site into a swamp in the winter and a beautiful garden in the summer. About 20 years ago, Israel blocked up the water source and the Palestinians got to work.
For years Mayors and Prime Ministers looked the other way. Only Mayor Uri Lupolanski was the construction halted.
Now there is a debate of what is going to happen there. The buildings might be torn down, but is that worse than looking the other way?
