On Eve Of Elections, Likud Up in Polls

by Eric on February 9, 2009

The election to determine the majority party and likely prime minister of Israel is inching closer, and the most recent polls put Likud, and Benjamin Netanyahu, on top. These recent poll results are from the Jerusalem Post:

It will be interesting to see coalition talks after the election if these results are accurate. A Likud-Israel Beiteinu-National Union coalition would give the right a 47 seat bloc, still 15 seats short of a majority. Maybe a Shas Education Minister would bring the Likud coalition to 57. However, 57 is still not 61.
