Likud and Kadima have agreed on who will be the next Prime Minister of Israel. The top four positions in the Israeli cabinet, two will go to Likud and two will go to Kadima.
The top position will be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Both parties met with Yisrael Beiteinu leadership, and neither party found Avigdor Lieberman’s party demands agreeable. Instead, they will work together without Yisrael Beiteinu.
Kadima and Likud have just short of 61 seats combined, and the two parties working together will have little trouble finding a party to fill the remaining seats.
It appears that Likud will hold Prime Minister and Treasury. Kadima will be given the Foreign and Defense positions.
None of this is set in stone, and Kadima may still back out and decide to be the major opposition to Likud. However, inside sources have reported that the arrangement is highly likely.
