Lebanese Rockets Explode in Northern Israel

by Eric on February 23, 2009

Three Lebanese rockets landed in Israel on Saturday wounding three Israeli citizens. The rocket that wounded civilians landed in an Israeli Arab village.

Residents of the village at first thought the explosion was thunder from a rain storm. It turned out not to be the case. The IDF responded with mortar fire into Lebanon.

While no group claimed the attack, it is likely that the rockets were fired with the approval of Hezbollah.

Israel needs to prepare for another war with Lebanon. While this can hopefully be averted, a repeat of the 2006 war seems inevitable. Like Hamas, Hezbollah does not want peace. Hezbollah does not want economic prosperity. Hezbollah wants Israel gone. As long as that fact remains, Israel must be prepared to protect its citizens at a moments notice.
