Israeli Team Aids Plane Crash Rescue Efforts

by Eric on February 16, 2009

A team of six Israelis made their way to Buffalo, New York to assist in the emergency effort following a plane crash that killed fifty people. Among the dead are two Israelis.
The six volunteers are part of a team from ZAKA that travels around the world to assist disaster relief efforts. The plane crashed into a house six miles short of the Buffalo Airport.

The ZAKA team specializes in bringing together bodies for burial after disasters including terrorist attacks and plane crashes. Under Jewish law, a body is to be buried whole. ZAKA works to make that possible.
