Two Parties Banned from Elections Allowed Back In

by Eric on January 22, 2009

The Knesset election committee voted last week to remove two of the Arab parties from the February election for being anti-Israel. These “critics” of Israel were vocally telling the world that Israel was not acting in self defense in a war that was clearly to stop rocket attacks.

Israel’s Supreme Court decided that removing the parties from the elections is not acceptable. They are back in. I suspect that the one major Arab party remaining was excited that they would gain so many more votes with the disappearance of their ally/rival parties. Now it will go back to the way things were.

The election is scheduled for the second week in February.
