A Jewish resident of Emanuel, a Samaria town, was attacked in his car Tuesday evening. The Settler was driving on Highway 55 when two Palestinians began throwing rocks at his car.
In fear for his safety, the Settler, who was armed, began firing at the attackers. One was injured and one was killed. The stone thrower was a 15 year old Palestinian and had been detained by police before for stone throwing.
A city counsel member for the area said that the section of road is well known for daily stone throwing or Molotov cocktail attacks.
I think the attacker had it coming. Anyone who says that they would not react the same way to an attack is delusional. While it is unfortunate that the counter-attack was deadly, it was an act of self defense.
What do you think of the incident? Was the Settler too harsh in his reaction? Should he go to jail?
