Thanks to the first amendment for allowing me to say that.
So Jimmy Carter, former President of the United States, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and d-bag extraordinaire, has said that Hamas can be trusted in a Middle East peace deal.
First off, in Islam lying to Israelis is perfectly acceptable. I found a scholarly work by a Muslim named Abdullah al Araby. He uses Israel as an example of when Muslims can lie. In his work he cites the 1967 war.
However, unlike most religions, within Islam there are certain provisions under which lying is not simply tolerated, but actually encouraged. The book “The spirit of Islam,” by the Muslim scholar, Afif A. Tabbarah was written to promote Islam. On page 247, Tabbarah stated: “Lying is not always bad, to be sure; there are times when telling a lie is more profitable and better for the general welfare, and for the settlement of conciliation among people, than telling the truth. To this effect, the Prophet says: ‘He is not a false person who (through lies) settles conciliation among people, supports good or says what is good.”
Jimmy, take a note from the Quran, you can’t trust Hamas. They will lie to you to wipe Israel off the map. I am not certain if Jimmy Carter cares if that happens, but that is what will happen if Israel trusts Hamas with anything. It is hard enough to work with PA President Abbas, who represents the former PLO.
Carter did say one thing that I agree with. “There will be no peace in the Middle East without Hamas involvement.” That is true, Hamas will prevent all peace agreements made. As long as Hamas is there, we will have no peace.
Maybe peace is possible. I, however, do not think it will happen for quite a long time. Until groups like Hamas and Hezbollah lose power, peace will be an evasive dream for Israel and moderates around the Middle East.
