Israel Willing to Do Whatever It Takes For Shalit

by Eric on January 26, 2009

Israel has offered a 1,000 to 1 prisoner exchange and open Gaza border crossings to get captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit back home.

Through indirect talking between Israel and Hamas, Egyptian officials relayed the message to Hamas and Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram.

This is quite an offer for one soldier. I have said many times on this blog that Israel should do virtually anything in its power to get Shalit home. However, I am hesitant to see prisoners released that would go on to kill far more Israelis than the one being saved.

I do not want to sound cold hearted, but every Hamas terrorist released has the potential will and ability to kill dozens of innocent people.
