When you hear the word Taliban, what comes to mind? The words that I think of are tyranny, extreme, deadly, forced Islam, danger… I could go on.
Many stories of Taliban torture and murder have been told. I recently read the book “The Kite Runner”, and was able to read an account of the Taliban by someone who grew up in Afghanistan. While the book is fiction, the portrayal of Taliban justice is not.
PLO officer Yasser Adb Rabbo has come out publicly against Hamas practices that sound eerily familiar. He accuses Hamas of taking over hospitals, school, and mosques for use as prisons and detention centers for Fatah supporters.
The accusations go on to include torture. Rabbo specifically mentions broken bones, bullets to the leg, and beatings.
In most parts of the world people do not rise up against their own kind. Palestinians, however, are killing each other just as much as they are trying to kill Israel. Hamas is bad for Israel and even worse for the Palestinians. They are ensuring no progress is made in the lifestyle of Gaza residents.
