Six million Jews died under the Nazis in the Holocaust. It was a planned, organized, systematic genocide of the Jewish people. Roughly half of all Jews in the world were killed in the shoa.
There are roughly 1.5 million people in Gaza. If Israel were to commit a “holocaust” in Gaza, they could not even touch the 6 million mark. In the last war, roughly 1,000 Gaza residents were killed. There are rumors that the number might actually be closer to 600 and that the Hamas number was far overstated. 1,000 people is .06% of the Gaza population. That is about 6 one hundredths of a percent of Palestinians in Gaza. If you include the West Bank, where no one was killed in the war, the number drops to 1,000 out of 4 million people, or .025%.
Barcelona called off a Holocaust remembrance day ceremony because of the “Holocaust” of the Palestinians. I am extremely offended that the memory of my family and the millions of other killed in Europe is being mentioned in the same sentence as a war (where Hamas was able to and did fight back) that killed 1,000, most of whom were armed terrorist militants.
