Tens Of Thousands Gather in Gaza to Honor Hamas

by Eric on December 15, 2008

Anyone who says the majority of Palestinians do not support terror have a short memory. Just a couple of years ago, in January 2006, the Palestinians voted in a democratic election for Hamas. They picked Hamas, a known terrorist/extremist organization over Fatah, a less radical terrorist group.

Just last year, Hamas violently took control of the Gaza Strip, which Israel evacuated in 2005, and created a government system in their own “Hamasistan”.

Highlights from Hamas leaders’ speeches include:
  • “Bush failed, we have not been overthrown… Hamas is stronger and will remain stronger because it draws its strength from God.”
  • “[Hamas] has succeeded in striking at Israel’s national security.”
  • “There is no sense in extending the truce while the enemy is not respecting it and is keeping Gaza in a state of siege.”
