Israel released 227 Palestinian prisoners on Monday. Each was greeted and welcomed warmly by PA President Abbas himself.
However, Abbas says that is not enough. He wants all 11,000 prisoners released as part of a peace agreement.
Israel would be crazy to do that. If I commit a crime in Israel, the US will not demand I am let of out jail. If a Palestinian commits a crime in Europe, they will not be let out of jail because Abbas asked. Israel should uphold the same standard. These people have killed, or tried to kill, innocent Israelis. They belong in prison.
