Israel Really Does Have Friends in the Middle East

by Eric on December 9, 2008

Qatar had a planned aid shipment destined to Gaza that was scheduled to be sent via a ship directly to Gaza. After Israel’s objections, Qatar canceled the shipment.

The boat containing medications will be held in Qatar. A non-profit group was intent on sending the ship, and would have been the first Arab non-profit to send a boat.

While a boat containing EU activists was allowed to sail to Gaza, a ship containing supplies from Libya was turned back without a major incident.

Israel is committed to holding the blockade on Gaza’s boarders until Hamas, the ruling Gaza party, stems rocket and mortar attacks aimed at civilians in Israel.
