Hamas Denies Gaza Palestinians from Haj

Hamas has denied Muslims the ability to fulfill one of the pillars of Islam, the Haj. Muslims are required to go at least once in their lifetime on a trip to Mecca for the Haj. Hamas setup a check point 300 meters from the Gaza-Egypt border at Rafah.

West Bank Palestinians were able to make the journey without issue using Saudi Visas issued to roughly 3000 travelers. Another 3000 applied for Visas from Gaza and were expected to travel through Egypt to Saudi Arabia, a very short journey by boat or plane. They never made it to Egypt.

Hamas officials said that Egypt did not open the border. The Egyptians said that they set up a station to process the visitors entering the country and no one showed up.

Look at how Hamas treats its own people. This is clearly a violation of the rights of Gazans to practice their religion.
