French President Sticks Up For Israel

by Eric on December 12, 2008

France’s President, Nicolas Sarkozy, said that he will not shake hands with someone who says Israel should be wiped off the map.

The current French president has been a friend to Israel since his election, and he has made it clear that he is not a friend of the current Iranian regime. The French government has also been actively involved in efforts to keep Iran from obtaining nuclear capabilities.

“I find it impossible to shake hands with somebody who has dared to say that Israel must be wiped off the map,” he said. “I know perfectly well the Iranian President does not represent the entire Iranian government, and even less … the Iranian population.”
