Ben-Ami Kadish, an 85 year old American, pleaded guilty to spying for Israel in the 1980′s. Kadish, born in Connecticut, checked out documents from a military library and took them home where an Israeli spy took photographs of the classified books, maps, and plans.
Kadish was working with the same higher level agent who worked with Jonathan Pollard, who is now serving a life sentence after being convicted of spying in the 80s.
Negotiations are taking place between prosecutors and Kadish’s lawyers. It is not clear whether or not Kadish will spend time in jail. He risks a maximum sentence of five years that would expire when he is around 90 years old.
Kadish was arrested in April under charges of espionage and conspiracy following an investigation that began in 2005.
