I think Olmert must be kind of stupid. Land for peace does not work. Want an example? Gaza! We gave up all of Gaza under Olmert’s leadership, and dozens of rockets have been fired on Israel from the territory this month alone.
I am not a zealot. I am not an extremist. I am a realist. If giving away Gush Katif would have led to peace, I would have supported it. I didn’t think it would work. I was right. So were many others.
Why would giving away the West Bank be any different? No one has an answer to that one. It would not be different. Giving away land does not help anyone. People in Gaza are worse off. There are less jobs and there is more violence. The people who had to leave have suffered. The only people to benefit are Hamas leaders, also known as terrorists.
Olmert, wake up. It doesn’t work. If giving away the Golan is what it takes for peace with Syria, I don’t need peace with Syria. They were just trying to build nuclear bombs. Did you forget?
Jerusalem is our eternal homeland. I will concede Mecca and Medina to the Muslims. They can pray in Jerusalem and live in Jerusalem. There should be religious freedom in Jerusalem. However, it is, and should remain, the undivided capital of Israel.
Olmert made these disrespectful political comments at a ceremony in memory of Yitzhak Rabin. I bet he would call you crazy Olmert. Even Rabin would not have divided Jerusalem.
