New Rounds of Violence from Gaza

by Eric on November 8, 2008

A new round of violence erupted from Gaza last week. One day over 100 rockets and mortars were fired from the Hamas controlled territory. Israel went in and killed 6 terrorists. Rockets hit as far as Ashkelon.

Is this new round of violence an end to the Egypt brokered Israel/Hamas truce? It will be interesting to see what happens. With Bush on the way out and Obama on the way in, there is another interesting factor to watch for.

Either way, it is important for Israelis to be ready for anything at any moment. A few rockets from Gaza can become a war faster than any of us might realize. We also can’t forget about Hezbollah on the north. We also must remember there are Palestinian Israeli citizens who are up for terrorist attacks.

In a rough neighborhood, it is important to be ready for anything at any moment.
