The Yom Kippur Riots of 2008

by Eric on October 10, 2008

Palestinians united in destruction this Yom Kippur in Akko, a city in Israel’s north coastal region. The riots were a “response” to “settler terrorism”.

In response, the extremist Palestinians, led by Islamic Jihad and the Palestinian Resistance Committee, have called for the unitiing of the Palestinians for a 3rd Intifada.

While I don’t think a 3rd Intifada is likely, it is important to look within to stop terror. Israeli Arabs have been responsible for 3 vehicular attacks and 1 gunman attack fairly recently, and Israeli Arabs have the ability to cause real trouble, as they are Israeli and can move freely in the country.

Yisrael Beiteinu’s plan (presented to Israel by Lieberman) sounds kind of good right now. Draw a line through Israel and the West Bank. Jews are in, Muslims are out. We have a country, they have a country. And, more importantly, we have a defensible boarder.
