Livni Wants More Time

by Eric on October 17, 2008

Possible Prime Minister to be Tzipi Livni will ask President Shimon Peres for a two week extension on her deadline to build a coalition. The holdup is a fight between Shas, who wants a 1 billion shekel allotment to child welfare, and Finance Minister Zehava Gal-On, from the Meretz party.

I am not a big fan of a political party that sells out to either side for money (Shas), but I a absolutely hate Meretz. I hope this keep Livni from her Kadima led government goals and leads to an early election.

She is confident that two weeks is plenty of time to pull things together.
