Likud: Jerusalem Not Up for Negotiation

by Eric on October 27, 2008

If you were forgetting why we like Bibi, here is a reminder. At the opening session of the winter Knesset, Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu said that Jerusalem is not negotiable and Israel will not accept Palestinian “refugees.”

The Knesset may be dissolved as early as this week, and it is important to remember who stands for Jerusalem and the Jewish people, even when they are the minority party. Likud will not give away any of Jerusalem. Likud will not take in Palestinians displaced in 1948 or 1967. I feel bad for them, but they are the only people ever to be called refugees beyond a generation. I don’t feel so bad. They claim they are suffering, but they have it much, much better than real refugees.

While I prefer the National Alliance (HaIchud HaLemumi), it is very likely that a Likud led government will come together after the next election. When you go vote, think about Yerushalayim.
