Fighting for Israel on a US Passport

A Jerusalem couple had a child in Jerusalem shortly after a law was passed in Congress and signed by the US President. The law states that at the request of the passport holder or, in the case of a minor, his parents, the passport should read “Jerusalem, Israel” for birthplace rather than just “Jerusalem.”

A Jerusalem couple, Rabbi and Naomi Zivotofsky, wanted the change made on their son’s passport. They were denied. Now it is going to court.
