An Israeli embassy attache said that there is a lot of Israeli interest in doing big business in Cambodia, a Southeast Asian nation. The Phnom Penh Post reports that Tzahi Selzer, an Israeli embassy spokesperson, said “There is huge interest in Cambodia [in Israel]. Businesses are looking to [the Israeli government] to open new markets for them in Cambodia.”

The specific focus of business opportunities in the region focus around agriculture and high tech enterprises. Israel hopes to be one of the top ten investors in Cambodia.

“In the next year, you will hear a lot about Israel in Cambodia … there aren’t many places that are as promising as the Cambodian market. Israel has been in Vietnam and India, and is looking for new markets.”
