University of Colorado Alumni Builds Israel Solar House

by Eric on August 5, 2008

As a proud alumni of the University of Colorado, I was excited to see (in a local paper) that a CU alumni was offered a trip of a lifetime, a chance to go to Israel to build a solar house.

CU’s engineering school offers up a handful of green opportunities for students every year. These include the solar decathlon, a competition to build a 100% solar powered house. CU has won this national contest a handful of times throughout the years.

Anyone who has been to Israel knows that water heaters sit on building roofs to take advantage of solar power. This concept takes that a big step further.

Now, CU alum Toby Lewis is taking the plunge in Israel, building a greener future for the Jewish state with REAL Housing. I wish her well and hope she can learn from Israel as much as she can benefit Israel with her project.
