Abbas Rejects Israel Peace Offer

by Eric on August 13, 2008

Palestinian President Abbas rejected an Israeli peace offer for 97% of the West Bank and all of Gaza. While I was not a big fan of the offer, it is sad to see that the Palestinians are more concerned with taking Israeli land than securing their own prosperity.

Olmert apparently gave this offer several months ago, but it was not published large scale until yesterday.

Abbas and his predecessors are very similar. As much as Israel and the United States would like to think that peace with Abbas is possible, he has proved to be just like Yasser Arafat and others who have rejected a compromise for peace. He wants all, or will wait until all is possible.
