The catestrophic prisoner swap, which I refer to as the nakbah (Arabic for catastrophe. That is what they call Yom HaAtzmaout), has taken place this morning.
The bodies of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Ragev, kidnapped while on patrol two years and four days ago, were handed over to the International Red Cross and transfered to the IDF.
Upon identification of the bodies, five Lebanese terrorists, including the notorious murderer Samir Kutnar, will be released to Lebanon along with the bodies of 199 Hezbollah terrorists.
If I had been running the show, I would have traded bodies for bodies, not bodies for convicted muderers.
The families of Ehud and Eldad are in my thoughts today, as the long feared fate of their sons, brothers, and husband are now known. They fought for a great cause, however, the future of the Jewish people.
