While fellow blogger Joe supports McCain, I don’t. I think McCain is just an extension of horrible policies currently enacted in the US. If it were up to me, I would just elect Bill Clinton President for another eight years. He could balance the budget and fix the economy again. But that is illegal, so Obama it is.
For domestic US issues, there is no question in my mind that Obama is better. This is an Israel blog, however, so I am not going to discuss those issues. I am going to discuss Obama and Israel.
As I posted a few weeks back, Barak Obama has claimed that he will stand by Israel. He is self declared friend of Israel, and I have no doubt in my mind that his intentions regarding Israel are only the best. No President in the United States will ever not be a friend of Israel. It is just a matter of if he truly understands what is going on.
My only big worry is his intent to speak to certain factions of the world (Iran) set on destruction of the West. Having attended a Muslim school, Obama has in depth knowledge of Sharia and how Islam views the world. I hope that after one quick chat with Iranian leadership, his memory of what Radical Islamists truly want will kick in, and he will realize that there is no progress to be made with people set on murder, destruction, and imperial religious growth throughout the world.
Israel does not need another Bush, Israel does not need a McCain, and Israel does not need an Obama. Israel needs an understanding friend that will support it when attacked, and back it when attacks need to be made. Israel needs someone to support and agree. Obama or McCain will undoubtedly try to resume and progress peace negotiations. Obama or McCain will certainly denounce terrorists. And Obama or McCain will have no choice but to support Israel in any action necessary to ensure the safety and continued existence of its people in the Middle East.
