Iran Tests Missiles, Threatens Israel

by Eric on July 9, 2008

Iran’s military ran a set of missile tests yesterday. The tests of several long range missiles included one with a range that could strike Israel from Iran. Many suspect that the tests were a response to Israel’s military drills last week. A prominent United States diplomat also suspects an Israeli attack is comming.

Iran also threatened that any military attack by either the United States or Israel on Iranian nuclear sites will be met with heavy retaliation on Israel. They said that they will also attack United States warships located throughout the Persian Gulf.

Iran has also threatened to block the 21 mile wide opening of the Persian Gulf, which would block 20% of the world’s daily oil production.

Tensions are rising in the world’s roughest neighborhood, and Israel has to be prepared to be able to defend itself against Iranian missile attacks, air strikes, and possible ground troops from the Lebanon and Syrian boarders.

We may be witnessing events leading up to a major war between the Western world and the Muslim world. I pray that a major war can be avoided, but if one is needed to protect innocent Israelis from nuclear weapons, that is what must happen.

Do you think a war is comming? Do you support one? Do you think Israel is ready? Dare we say World War 3?

If Russia does what they do best and support the Iranians in an imminent conflict, then I believe it will be WWIII.

I don’t see how war can be avoided. Iran is obviously seeking nuclear weapons, and they will obviously never stop in their pursuit. Israel or the U.S will be forced to attack Iran, and then all hell breaks loose.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how much faith I have in Israel to win an enormous war like that. If this was 20 years ago, then Israel wins. But today, with our government and how they have been slowly ruining the country…a confrontation with Iran would be devastating.

I agree, the Israel of today is not the Israel of 1967. We need leadership in the Knesset (Bibi?) who would open up a no holds barred can of whoop ass. Ariel Sharon could have done it. Bibi can do it. Olmert is a wuss.
