IDF Begins The Nakbah

by Eric on July 6, 2008

Yes, I am calling it the Nakbah (Arabic for “Disaster” or “Israeli Independence Day”) Israeli troops have begun the process of transferring bodies to for the swap with Hezbollah.

I would not object to swapping Israeli bodies for Hezbollah bodies, but I do object to swapping Israeli bodies for live murderers serving life sentences in Israeli prison.

I really do not understand the reasoning behind this move. It gave Hezbollah victory in the 2 year old war. Yes, Israel does have an obligation to get the bodies of soldiers back, but it has an even bigger obligation to the security of its citizens. Getting the bodies back helps two families. Keeping terrorists in jail helps the entire world. This is a mistake, a disaster, a nakbah.
