Time For Elections

It is time for elections. An American businessman testified in Israel today that he gave the Prime Minister well over $100,000 in cash. This is textbok corruption, and the Israeli people should not have to stand for it any longer. Olmert simply cannot be trusted.

Parties in the current coallition should break their ties to the Kadima government, and force new elections. I suspect the Israeli people are sick of Olmert’s regeime, and are ready for change. I would personally support seeing a Likud/HaIchud HaLeumi led coalltion.

We shall see what happens. Many MKs are calling for Olmert’s resignation over the allegations, including MKs from both the left and right wing parties. It is one thing to upset people through political moves, it is completely different to break the law as leader of a nation’s government.
