Bush Comments Spark Contraversy

by Eric on May 15, 2008

I hate President Bush. I think he is possibly the worst president in the history of the United States. That puts him on my list with Ronald Regan and Richard Nixon.

The entire country is making a huge deal about a speech Bush recently made in the Knesset, but I don’t think what he said was all that bad.

“As witnesses to evil in the past, we carry a solemn responsibility to take these words seriously. Jews and Americans have seen the consequences of disregarding the words of leaders who espouse hatred. And that is a mistake the world must not repeat in the 21st century.”

That sounds a whole lot like something I have said recently. Several times. Here in a post about Hillary Clinton. And here in a post about the costs of military restraint. Here in a February post about diplomatic options. I guess Bush speechwriters are reading my blog.

I will, for the first time ever, agree with George Bush. We cannot negotiate with Iran unless they remove their nuclear program and stop their anti-Israel and anti-West rhetoric. They are demonstrating that they want to destroy a long-time American ally. We cannot talk to them until they clean up their act.

100% with you on this one. No… 1000%. We’re trying to act like Europe back with Hitler and think it’s going to somehow turn out different because we’re seeking peace. They’re not.

Oh and by the way, the Koran allows a Muslim to lie if the other person isn’t a Muslim, so why do we keep going into negotiations that they keep screwing around with?

The Quran also calls all non-Muslim land the “land yet to be conquered.”

    Thanks for your input Matt.
