Palestinian Media Lies About Civilian Deaths

by Eric on April 28, 2008

An explosion in Gaza town Beit Hanoun killed six Palestinians early Monday. Palestinians immediately blamed Israel, claiming an Israeli tank shell caused the blast.

However, they lied. Palestinians usually publish “news” much faster than Israelis, giving the world their perspective before anyone else has a chance to report. This often includes exaggerations and lies. The most famous example of this was the “Jenin Massacre”, which turned out to be anything but a massacre. The world, however, was convinced that IDF troops were slaughtering men, women, and children because of an initial PA report.

Today again, these methods make Israel look bad in the world’s eye. The Pallywood style report blamed Israel for an explosion that was actually caused by an accidental detonation of terrorist explosives destined for Israel.

UPDATE: Al-Jazeera and B’Tselem both confirm that initial report was a lie. Read more about it at Elder of Ziyon.
