Canadians Come Under Fire In Israel

by Eric on April 5, 2008

In a literal, not metaphoric sense, a group of Canadians touring the Israeli side of the Gaza boarder came under fire by a Palestinian sniper. The group was accompanied by Public Security Minister Avi Dichter, and it is suspected that he was the target of the attack.

None of the Canadians were injured. One of Dichter’s aids, who was accompanying the trip, was shot twice. He was hit in the stomach and pelvis and is in stable condition in an Israeli hospital.

The Canadians were shocked by the incident, but all left the area safe and are continuing touring the area. What shocked one woman in the group most was that a sniper would fire into the group so near a group which had children present.

Hopefully this group, sponsored by the Canadian government, will relay the real Israel situation to their Prime Minister and Parliment.
