Israel's Diplomatic Options

Israel is at a diplomatic fork in the road regarding its Middle East neighbors. Hamas and Iran are both leading to a tipping point where a decision must be made.

In Iran, a nuclear threat is nearing every day. The prospect of a nuclear Iran is the equivalent to a modern Nazi power bearing nuclear arms. Hitler public announced that he intended to annihilate the Jewish people. No one listened. He killed about half of the Jews in the world.

Today, the Iranian president is on TV telling the world he will wipe Israel and the Jewish people off of the map. No one is listening. It would only take a few modern nuclear weapons to wipe out Israel and half of the Jews in the world. Someone needs to start listening and act, now.

Hamas is a different kind of threat. Hamas supporters do not pose the potential to wipe Israel out, but they are a nearby, constant threat. Hamas has shown hostilities despite Israeli actions to make peace. The Palestinians did not follow Oslo. The Palestinians (as long as Hamas is present) will make absolutely no viable movement for peace. It is time to stop talking and hit back.

Israel needs to do its part to protect its people and its future. It is time to stop returning rocket fire with rocket fire. It is time to swoop in and fight vocal, violent enemies until the threat is neutralized. Until then, Israelis are simply waiting for the enemy to strike.
